Clean Slate Clinic Volunteers
The San Diego Clean Slate Clinic assists clients through the criminal record expungement process. Expungement can have a significant impact on a person's employment rights, public housing, and public benefits.
We are looking for law students and community members to staff the clinic. Under the supervision of attorneys, volunteers conduct client intake, assess client eligibility for expungement, assist clients with drafting declarations, and provides clients with legal information after consultation with a staff attorney. The clinic offers volunteer law students an opportunity to gain practical legal skills while helping San Diego's low income community. This is excellent experience to add to your resume and great way to give back to your community.
